CareerLabsVR Facilitator Training and Equipment Checkout

What is CareerLabsVR? CareerLabsVR combines career exploration with the immersive capabilities of virtual reality, allowing students to engage with hands-on careers right from the classroom. Instead of passively observing on a computer screen, users are fully immersed in interactive 3D environments. Students experience various tasks directly related to their chosen career field, selecting from 32 career modules. They engage in activities such as reading blueprints, using grinders to cut pipes, or operating cranes, all using the tools common to their selected trade.

This same CareerLabsVR equipment enabled more than 1300 students across the PLAEA region to participate in hands-on learning over the past year and a half. However, this year, the CareerLabsVR experience will not come with a dedicated consultant to guide your students. It's now the perfect opportunity for a local educator to step up and facilitate this valuable experience independently.

Educators who are interested can log into the AEA Learning System here and complete the CareerLabsVR facilitator training. This training is mandatory prior to checking out the equipment. It ensures that educators are well-prepared to create a productive and safe learning environment while utilizing the virtual reality equipment.

Once the training is successfully completed, educators can contact PLAEA's Torrey Proctor to schedule equipment delivery to their school. This seamless process ensures that your students can access the immersive world of CareerLabsVR under the guidance of a skilled facilitator.
