Immerse your students in career options with CareerLabs VR

Want to immerse your 7th-12th grade students into careers, but not sure where to start? Prairie Lakes Area Education Agency has a solution for you: CareerLabsVR!

CareerLabsVR combines career exploration with the power of virtual reality, so students can experience hands-on careers from the comfort and safety of the classroom. Instead of viewing a computer screen, users are immersed and able to interact in a 3D environment. The student will perform various tasks related to the career field they choose to explore. Students choose from 23 career modules and then will perform various tasks on the virtual job site - like reading a blueprint, cutting a pipe with a grinder, or operating a crane - with the most commonly used tools of their selected trade.

CareerLabsVR (CLVR) is one way that schools can assist with their students' Individual Career and Academic Plan (ICAP).  Each hands-on experience lasts roughly 20 minutes long giving students an opportunity to complete many of the most common tasks of the career they have chosen. Three students can be on one of the three CLVR machines at a time. Between 30-35 students can enjoy a career VR experience in one school day. Prairie Lakes AEA will send the equipment along with a facilitator to ensure student safety and success.
