Opportunities for Leadership Professional Learning
The University of Northern Iowa Institute for Educational Leadership received a grant called Leading and Learning with Character through the Kern Family Foundation. As part of the grant, UNI will host Leadership Camps (approved for evaluator renewal) and Think Tanks for school leaders across the state for the next three years. Feedback from those who have attended thus far has been very positive and we are looking forward to serving additional leaders in the upcoming school year.
The PLAEA Think Tank is scheduled from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Sept. 13 at the PLAEA office in Pocahontas. Think Tanks are facilitated conversation around challenges facing Iowa school leaders and strategies for addressing the challenges. Each participant will have the opportunity to share a challenge and dialogue with others regarding possible actions to address the challenge. There is no cost to attend and lunch is provided.
Leadership Camp is planned for April 2-3, 2020 from 8:30-4:30 at the PLAEA office in Pocahontas. One graduate credit needed to renew Evaluator Approval license. The $75 fee ncludes all materials and lunch. This camp is Interactive, engaging and process-oriented.
