Summer Classes Designed Specifically for Teachers of Struggling Readers
Please share this information with your special education teachers. These classes are designed specifically for teachers of struggling readers around the concepts of diagnose, design, and deliver to meet individual student's reading needs.
Effective Instruction for Adolescent Struggling Readers (Grades 5-12)
There are 1,480 students in gr. 5-12 in PLAEA with reading goals. Provide special education teachers with interventions for older students, including diagnostic assessments and teaching strategies to address reading deficits. Participant implementation throughout the school year.

Diagnostic Reading Assessment & Instruction Class
For: License Renewal (1 credit)
Target Audience: Sped. Teachers, Interventionists, Title teachers, Gen. Ed.
Participants will build :
1. Common learning about intervention systems and the process of assessment and data based decision making,
2. Analyzing screening & assessment data, determining diagnostics and aligning instruction to progress monitoring (RIOT),
3. Library of instructional resources to use in schools to implement strategies
