Celebrate Public Ed with Promise of Iowa Campaign Graduation Toolkit
Iowa's #1 graduation rate comes to life in May, when all of the hard work and dedication from students, educators, parents, district staff and school boards comes to culmination in one important day--commencement.
The Promise of Iowa campaign is making it easy for students and parents to celebrate being a "Proud Iowa Public School Grad" and "Proud Parent of an Iowa Public School Grad" on social media. The Iowa Association of School Boards created a digital toolkit for both seniors and parents to use with resources including social media graphics, profile picture frames, cover photos, and a dedicated #ThankYouIA hashtag.
What You Can Do
1) Please share this digital toolkit with your high school seniors and their parents and ask them use the social media resources, upload selfies in their graduation cap and gown, use the #ThankYouIA hashtag, and share with their friends.
Consider using this message when you share the toolkit in your district communications:
Celebrate public education with the Promise of Iowa campaign graduation toolkit!
Seniors: We made it easy for you to celebrate being a “Proud Iowa Public School Grad” via social media! Use the resources to help thank Iowans for their investment in your public education. Be sure to use #ThankYouIA in your social media posts!
Parents: We want to help you commemorate this special day and celebrate your seniors. Use this toolkit to #ThankYouIA for Iowans’ investment in public education and celebrate your public school graduate with a "Proud Parent of an Iowa Public School Grad" social media graphic!
Visit www.promiseiowa.org/grad-blitz for these resources.
2) Additionally, you could plan a time when your seniors are gathered for a senior meeting or graduation prep. Share this information with them and ask them to participate during that designated time. Encourage them to take a selfie if they are in their graduation cap and gown and use the profile picture frame feature. Snap a photo of your students participating and upload it to your district social media and use the #ThankYouIA hashtag.
