March 11 is Make It OK Ambassador training
Please feel free to post the download in your schools and share through your communication channels!
One in five people will develop a mental illness in their lifetime. Wondering how to start a conversation and support your friend, neighbor, family member who is experiencing a mental illness? Become a Make It OK Ambassador.
Prairie Lakes AEA is offering free training that will equip participants with the skills needed to help people who are dealing with a mental health struggle. The training will also prepare participants to present the one-hour program to community and civic clubs, church congregation, school, and co-workers. Participants will also get access to the many free materials and resources available through MakeItOK.org
There are two training options: 9-11 a.m. and noon-2 p.m. on March 11 at the Prairie Lakes AEA office in Pocahontas.
An Ambassador does not need to be an expert on mental health but someone who enjoys connecting, engaging, educating and promoting mental health awareness. Anyone can be an Ambassador and help stop the silence on mental illness in Iowa.
