Still seeking feedback on Evaluator:Improving Student Achievement through Actionable Feedback
Many of you have expressed interest in the newly approved course for Evaluator, Improving Student Achievement through Actionable Feedback. PLAEA is still seeking interest in the course. The cost would be $400 to $450 per participant and provide two credits. The course will be facilitated by staff from Grantwood AEA and the New Teacher Center.
Class Format and Location
- 3 days of Face-to-Face professional learning
- 2 days (first week of August)
- 1 day a few months later
- 2 half-day virtual forums
- 1 between the 2nd and 3rd days of Face to Face professional learning
- 1 as a follow up to the last Face to Face professional learning
- The course would be complete by the first week in December.
Based on registrations the course would hopefully be held in PLAEA with the location to be determined (Fort Dodge, Pocahontas, Spencer or Storm Lake).
The course: Improving Student Achievement through Actionable Feedback: Moving beyond a narrow focus on teacher evaluation processes, Improving Student Achievement through Actionable Feedback professional learning and follow-up support is designed to develop the leadership skills that result in measurable improvement in teacher effectiveness. Leaders learn how to provide meaningful, actionable feedback to develop teachers’ instructional practices with a focus on the social and emotional learning needs of teachers and students. This session also equips participants with the skills to analyze student work through the lens of rigorous state standards, ensuring school leaders have the learning data they need to coach for results.
