PLAEA hosts regional Physics Olympics competition
The PLAEA Physics Competition will be held Tuesday, Feb. 5 at Iowa Central Community College East Campus, Building #3, 2031 Quail Avenue, Fort Dodge. Teams can arrive beginning at 8 a.m. with competition commencing at 8:30 a.m.
This is a qualifying event for the Iowa Physics Competition to be held at the McLeod Center on the UNI Campus in Cedar Falls on April 9.
Please visit the Iowa Physics Competition page on the UNI Physics website to review the rules for competition and events. One item of note, the PLAEA Physics Challenge Problem will focus on determining the index of refraction rather than time, as in 2018. The Iowa Physics Competition Challenge problem will focus on mass. The updated rules will be posted soon, but until then, use the 2018 Physics Competition Rules.
We would appreciate any help from teachers in judging each of the events. Please let Hope or Carl Gross (ICCC physics instructor, firstname.lastname@example.org) know if you are interested.
